Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission

Non Intensive and Semi Intensive Strategy

National Rural Livelihoods Mission is being implemented in Maharashtra through 3 strategies- Intensive, Non-intensive and Semi intensive.

Non-intensive and semi-intensive strategy has been introduced from 2013-14. Non & semi intensive strategy is being implemented in 315 blocks of 33 districts through district rural development agencies (DRDAs). These strategies will do the necessary groundwork for phased implementation of intensive strategy. A separate non-intensive cell has been created in state mission management unit for overall coordination, supervision and monitoring.

  1. Semi Intensive strategy

One Zilla Parishad cluster (Gat) each is selected in 315 blocks based on percentage of SC/ST population and BPL HHs for implementation of Semi-Intensive strategy. Each Z.P cluster is divided into two Panchayat Samiti Gans. Two block coordinators (B.Cs) have been appointed who have been given responsibility of one Panchayat Samiti Gan each. Within each Gan, a similar criterion of SC/ST population and BPL HHs was used for identification of villages for sequential village entry plan.

  2. Non-intensive strategy:

Non intensive strategy is being implemented in rest of the Z.P gats in 315 blocks excluding semi-intensive areas.
